This position reports to the Global Category Manager.

The Global Sourcing & Procurement department is managing 3rd party spend for Information Technologies, Insurance Procurement, and General Expenses. The “General expenses” team is looking for a buyer who will be in charge of several areas of spend globally – Travel, Workplace, and Facilities Management – under the supervision of Genex’ category experts.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
  1. Support Category Managers and Category Leads to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet AXA XL’s procurement needs effectively and efficiently.
  2. Conduct sourcing activities on medium risk projects including RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFQs (Request for Quotations), and negotiations with suppliers, ensuring that contracts are commercially negotiated balancing performance, value, and risk.
  3. Instigate and maintain excellent and effective relationships with key functional stakeholders, subject matter experts, Legal, Risk, Information Security, and Data Privacy teams.
  4. Support the delivery of category plans, category sourcing events, and commercial contract management for centrally managed and led categories through market research to stay informed about industry trends, new suppliers, and pricing structures.
  5. Support preparation and delivery of reports on category performance, savings, and supplier performance for Category Managers and Category Leads.
  6. Support adoption of the commercial and procurement ways of working, policies, and processes within central category teams, supporting the design and implementation of exit and mitigation plans as required.
  7. Support activities with the Sustainable Procurement team to promote supplier diversity and inclusion within the procurement processes, integrating sustainability practices into day-to-day activities.
  8. Support initiatives to streamline processes and operational efficiency within AXA XL procurement processes.
  9. Adopt a mentality of continuous learning within the categories of spend and procurement trends and capabilities.
  10. Complete all necessary learning activities and stay informed of regulatory changes and market dynamics that may impact categories.
  11. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
We’re looking for someone who has these qualifications and skills:
  • PROCUREMENT: end to end procurement knowledge, category strategy execution, procurement background > 3 years’ experience as a buyer for an Indirect Procurement Team in an international environment.
  • Skills:

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with senior stakeholders within a matrix organization.
  • Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Fluent in English (French & other languages appreciated).

  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with a “can do” attitude.
  • Experience of data analysis.
  • Appetite to learn and develop.
