An established industry player is seeking a Direct Material Buyer to manage sourcing and supplier performance for key commodities. This role involves preparing and executing RFQs, negotiating contracts, and ensuring quality and logistics performance. 1. Scope
The Direct Material Buyer is responsible for managing sourcing, resourcing, contract execution, and supplier performance for an assigned set of commodities and supplier relationships. The Buyer contributes to defining the Commodity Strategy.
The Direct Material Buyer interacts with stakeholders at Stellantis (Engineering, Program Team, Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk Management, Purchasing, Finance, Accounting, Cost Engineers, etc.) to coordinate actions related to Requests for Quotations or Contract Execution.
2. Activities
In accordance with Stellantis Code of Conduct (Ethics & Compliance), the buyer is accountable for:
• Contributing to the Commodity Strategy within their perimeter
• Preparing and managing RFQs (Requests for Quotation) aligned with the bid list defined by the commodity strategy
• Making supplier recommendations (REC) during sourcing decision meetings
• Generating Purchase Agreements (contracts) based on supplier selection (REC)
• Ensuring contract execution, quality, logistics, development performance, and capacity increases
• Managing escalation levels with suppliers regarding quality, logistics, and obsolescence when necessary
• Preparing, managing, and executing resourcing activities
• Managing and negotiating purchasing performance, including commercial performance, Monozokuri, Value Optimization (VO), and raw material indexation/optimization
• Coordinating and preparing business reviews with suppliers
• Handling administrative tasks such as purchase orders and amendments
• Managing reporting activities (e.g., Performance roadmap)
3. Main Deliverables
• Supplier recommendations based on sourcing timing, cost targets, and commodity strategy
• Ensuring the signature of Purchase Agreements and General Terms & Conditions (GT&Cs)
• Achieving economic performance, including VO, aligned with Division and Commodity Group targets
• Providing resourcing recommendations consistent with Division and Commodity Group targets
• Maintaining quality, logistics, and Vehicle Off Road (VOR) performance in line with Purchasing Division targets
• Managing all related business administration tasks
