Are you a driven Business Development Manager with 4-5 years of experience in the energy sector, specifically in the French market? Do you hold a bachelor’s degree in economics, Technical, Law, or a related area?

Our client, a leading global developer and operator of solar projects, is actively pursuing project development opportunities with significant profit potential in high-growth markets. Currently, they are in search of a Business Development Manager to oversee all development operations, actively participating in the entire project development cycle to ensure project profitability.

As our ideal candidate, you bring extensive experience in guiding projects to the ready-to-build phase, actively participating in auctions and sales intricacies. Your track record reflects your expertise in cultivating relationships with local authorities, utilities, and regulators, ensuring the smooth acquisition of permissions for constructing and operating solar plants. Your notable experiences encompass a deep understanding of the authorization process, covering zoning, environmental considerations, building codes, and conditions related to land and/or grid connections. You should demonstrate the capability to evaluate energy projects from both economic and legal standpoints, highlighting your independence and proactive involvement with stakeholders as essential attributes.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Technical, Law, or a related area

Experience Requirements

  • 4-5 years’ experience in energy sector or project-related environment
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the authorization process for zoning, environmental/building codes, and land/grid connection conditions in previous experiences
  • Capacity to evaluate energy projects from both economic and legal perspectives
  • Capability to work independently and take a proactive approach when engaging with stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Assist throughout the identification, evaluation, and assessment of solar projects for investment
  • Negotiate and sign lease agreements
  • Deal with authorities to get all necessary permission to build and operate solar plants
  • Communicate and collaborate with our engineers for the technical design of each plant
  • Manage relationships with local authorities, utilities, and the regulators
  • Interact with legal, tax, technical, and insurance advisors
  • Control projects until ready-to-build status and also participate in the auction and sale process

Skills

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems
  • English and German proficiency
  • Driving License (Category B)
