Job Description:

This role involves driving growth in the railway market in France for a European technology firm specializing in high-integrity software and systems solutions for mission- and safety-critical applications. The Business Development Manager will develop strategic business opportunities, manage key accounts, and expand market presence through technical sales and project-oriented business development. The position requires travel across the EU and collaboration with engineering, marketing, and project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the French railway market and its stakeholders.
  • Build and manage relationships with clients.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking and outreach.
  • Lead sales processes from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align offerings.
  • Create and implement go-to-market strategies.
  • Travel regularly within the EU for client engagement and industry events.
Requirements
  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years in business development, technical sales, or pre-sales in software and engineering services.
  • Experience or familiarity with the railway or transportation sector is preferred.
  • Ability to start new operations or business lines is a plus.
  • Experience in strategic account management and deal structuring.
  • Knowledge of bespoke software development and solution selling.
