Business Development Manager

To focus on securing new business from prospective and current accounts to meet sales objectives and generate profitable revenue for the EMEA region. Ensure market share growth, vertical integration growth, and prime strategic positioning for future business successes.

POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Responsible for developing new business and growing existing customer business by expanding market share and winning new programs for the EMEA region. They will work with plant operations on continuing to develop a comprehensive sales strategy while working in tandem with the existing geographic and component specialist sales organization currently established.

Responsible for developing new customers and ensuring competitive take-away, market share growth, and prime strategic positioning for future business successes. Identifies, targets, qualifies, and wins new business with new customers in order to meet and exceed sales revenue targets. Achieves annual sales revenue targets by obtaining new business. Identifies potential customers and analyzes the customer’s business, mission, strategy, and operations in order to recommend Sanmina products or services. Engages appropriate resources from cross-functional teams to ensure successful business execution. Participates in team calls, proposal development, pricing presentations, consultative selling techniques, and order closing strategies. Ensures customer satisfaction by managing and monitoring the sales order process from data collection through order acceptance and ensuring on-time delivery. Ensures customers have technical support for complex orders. Enters sales budget and forecast data into the appropriate systems.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments.
  • Has the authority to make responsible decisions comparable to the scope of the position.
  • Services/supports existing business and identifies strategically important opportunities for SANM to grow.
  • Focuses on increasing revenues and profit margins.
  • Meets and presents to all levels of management at the customer and complements the existing account team.
  • Compiles customer and account manager information and supplies monthly forecasts as well as other required information.
  • Develops strategic new system-level EMS customers and acts as the prime/single point of contact into all Sanmina services.
  • Completes customer satisfaction from RFQ to post-sales support.
  • Recommends customer discounts, custom solutions, and/or special considerations as appropriate.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating product results and competitive developments.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
  • Conducts calls and meetings with customers and internal teams to propose business solutions and customer engagements with Sanmina.
  • Manages sales order process to ensure customer satisfaction, monitoring data collection and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Identifies and resolves customer complaints, ensuring proper resolution and escalating when required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (skills, mental requirements, work experience, education, physical requirements):

  • This role generally requires a degree in engineering or business. Typically requires a minimum of 8 years’ related experience.

Minimum prior experience (Type of experience):

  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, interpersonal, and closing skills.
  • Understanding of sales and negotiation techniques.
  • Knowledge of CM/EMS industry with background in manufacturing with an understanding of Tier 2 and 3 OEMs in relevant industry.
