ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks is a smaller, independent, yet very dynamic division within the larger ArcelorMittal group. They supply the automotive sector throughout Europe with a highly automated machinery park. They produce laser-welded steel sheet components that are later integrated into cars to make them lighter, stronger, and more cost-effective. We are looking for a new, driven colleague to join us.

Responsibilities :

As a Business Development Manager, you will actively seek out new customers and market opportunities in the automotive tailored blank market. You'll act as a trusted ambassador, informing customers and prospects about new products and industry trends.

The Business Development team consists of 5 employees and reports to the Commercial Director.

You will be based in Stuttgart, Cologne, Luxembourg, Liège, or Uckange, and must be willing to travel frequently between these locations.

  • Seek new customers and business opportunities in the automotive tailored blank market (welded and unwelded blanks).
  • Co-develop solutions with the local design team to promote the advantages of tailored welded blanks, focusing on cost reduction, weight reduction, and crash management.

Quotation :

  • Evaluate inquiries for technical feasibility.
  • Define the production process in collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Calculate and submit price offers.
  • Negotiate contracts.

Program management :

  • Coordinate between customers and internal teams to ensure successful start of production (SOP) fulfilling all requirements.
  • Define project milestones and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the project management team on prototype development and mass production projects.
  • Manage roadblocks and troubleshoot issues.
  • Oversee changes during project execution.

Business intelligence :

  • Monitor market changes, including pricing, competition, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in conferences and trade shows.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Health & Safety :

  • Adhere to health and safety procedures.
  • Report health and safety risks promptly.

Profile :

  • Master’s degree in STEM or Business/Management from a university or business school.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong stress resistance, convincing skills, problem analysis, planning & organization, self-confidence, resilience, discipline, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, dynamic, service-oriented, results-driven, and excellent communicator.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments.
  • Fluent in English and German; additional European languages (French, Spanish, Dutch) are advantageous.
