Description du poste

Leading and shaping the strategy for [select] French practice groups and key clients, working collaboratively with fee earners, the European Business Development team, the broader global Client Development teams, BD Managers, and senior firm management. This involves understanding regional and local market needs and dynamics.

Implementing, tracking, analyzing, and evaluating activities related to business development initiatives across select French practice groups and key clients. Recommending strategies to enhance the effectiveness of these initiatives.

Conducting client, prospect, industry, competitor, and market research/analysis to inform targeted business development efforts.

Assisting with pitch and RFP efforts, including developing customized content and collaborating with the central Pitch & Pursuit team and other BD colleagues. Following up on pitch de-briefs and tracking wins/losses.

Planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality client events (seminars, conferences, sponsorships, webinars) to position the firm as a market leader, particularly in Arbitration and the Aviation and Insurance sectors. Focusing on ROI tracking, profitable revenue generation, and increasing brand profile.

Creating and managing marketing materials, assisting with podcasts, branding communications, advertising, and submissions for awards and directories.

Driving strategic initiatives that promote greater collaboration across Europe and increase revenue.

Creating and maintaining content on the firm's website and using the digital content design platform to develop and edit interactive content templates to enhance digital client experience.

Liaising with the global Communications team and French agency to coordinate internal and external communications for practice development in France, including social media to enhance the Clyde & Co brand.

Providing mentoring and coaching to junior team members.

Maintaining operational standards within the Marketing & Business Development team to ensure effective branding, representation of practice areas, informed pitch strategies, and efficient, cost-effective event management.

The Marketing & Business Development Manager is expected to:

  • Support and communicate the firm's business development goals, guiding partners, lawyers, and team members in their implementation.
  • Keep abreast of firm developments and market trends, communicating these to relevant stakeholders.
  • Exemplify attributes that reflect the firm's market positioning.

Qualifications and experience include:

  • Prior law firm experience preferred.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a professional services environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Interest or background in disputes, litigation, arbitration, and corporate issues.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to interact professionally with senior partners and business professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, independent work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, positive attitude, and credibility.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and work across cultures and time zones in a matrix organization.
