Outsight is a leader in Spatial Intelligence, delivering 3D LiDAR-driven insights across airports, transit hubs, and smart cities. We seek a 1st Business Controller to partner with commercial and operational teams, translating deals, shipments, services, and cash collection into reliable figures and actionable insights for executives.

This newly created role sits in a lean finance team of 4, collaborating with the CFO, accounting, and Sales Operations.

Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years in business controlling, FP&A, or financial audit.
• Proven experience with monthly revenue cycles, rolling cash forecasts, margin analysis, and multi-entity close.
• Master’s Degree (5-year) in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• Advanced financial modeling in Google Sheets/Excel with exposure to ERP/CRM platforms (Pennylane, QuickBooks, HubSpot, Payhawk).
• Full bilingual fluency (C2) in English and French to interface across international hubs.

Responsibilities

• Revenue & Cash Forecasting: Own weekly revenue forecast across sales stages and a 12-month rolling cash forecast; deliver monthly executive synthesis.
• Business Performance Steering: Track order intake, backlog, and unbilled revenue; monitor gross margins and four core KPIs.
• Revenue & Cash Collection Assurance: Monitor AR, overdue balances, and disputes; ensure invoicing accuracy against contracts.
• Operational Integration & Month-End Close: Contribute to monthly closes across 4 international legal entities with accruals and deferred revenue.
• Internal Control & Governance: Oversee key expenditure controls and vendor onboarding within authorization limits.
• Group Finance Projects: Contribute to annual budget, multi-year scenarios, board materials, audits, and grants files.

Context

As our 1st Business Controller, you will be the core finance partner for our commercial and operational teams. You will turn operational events (deals signed, hardware shipped, services delivered, cash collected) into reliable figures and 100% actionable insights for executive decision-making.

This is a newly created position within a lean finance team of 4 people. You will work closely with the CFO, accounting team, and Sales Operations, acting as the primary point of contact for department leaders on revenue, gross margins, and forecasts.

The position scope spans 3 key dimensions today (revenue, cash flow, and operational metrics) with planned growth toward FP&A, pricing strategy, and financial architecture as Outsight scales.

Responsibilities

• 1. Revenue & Cash Forecasting: Own the weekly revenue forecast across 100% of sales pipeline stages, invoicing, and cash collection, alongside a 12-month rolling cash forecast. Deliver a monthly executive synthesis highlighting top risks and opportunities.
• 2. Business Performance Steering: Track order intake, project backlog, and unbilled revenue across all active customer contracts. Analyze gross margins across customer segments and maintain 4 core KPI dashboards (bookings, backlog, DSO, gross margin).
• 3. Revenue & Cash Collection Assurance: Monitor accounts receivable, overdue balances, and customer disputes in coordination with Sales Operations. Ensure 100% accuracy of invoicing against contract deliverables and period-end cut-offs.
• 4. Operational Integration & Month-End Close: Provide operational inputs for monthly closes (accruals, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, inventory valuation) across 4 international legal entities.
• 5. Internal Control & Governance: Oversee key expenditure controls, vendor onboarding workflows, bank detail verifications, and approve purchase requests within defined authorization limits.
• 6. Group Finance Projects: Contribute to annual budget creation, multi-year financial scenarios, monthly board materials, annual audits, and public grant application files.

Requirements for the role

• Experience: 4 to 7 years in business controlling, FP&A, or financial audit, ideally within scale-ups combining hardware and SaaS models.
• Track Record: Proven experience managing monthly revenue cycles, rolling cash forecasts, margin analysis, and multi-entity close processes.
• Education: Master’s Degree (5-year higher education qualification) in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration from a recognized university or business school.
• Technical & Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling (Google Sheets/Excel) and hands-on exposure to modern ERP/CRM platforms (e.g., Pennylane, QuickBooks, HubSpot, Payhawk).
• Languages: Full bilingual fluency (C2 level) in English and French to interface daily across 5 international hubs.
