In addition, you will contribute to the annual performance analysis process on a worldwide basis for the SCOR Business Solutions (SBS) portfolios and provide analytical support to the CUO SBS and Head of SBS by developing analytics to monitor performance, undertaking market studies, and benchmarking exercises to identify opportunities.

UW Plan for P&C

The position holder, under the guidance of the Head of UW Planning and Forecasting, plays a crucial role within SCOR P&C business.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the Head of UW Planning and Forecasting in coordinating the production of the Underwriting Plan process (including data, process, tool, reporting, and timeline) for SCOR P&C.
  • Contribute to the development of the UW Plan tool for SCOR P&C, ensuring it reflects specific business needs in its design and implementation.
  • Help define business specifications for the tool to be developed by the Analytical Development and Analytical Data teams, with a focus on data quality.
  • Ensure that the P&C UW Plan complies with the Group’s new processes, including Strategic Plan, High-level Plan, Reforecasting, and Syndicate’s SBF and SBD deliverables, based on a consistent methodology across all business units.
  • Align the business planning (underwriting plan) with performance monitoring metrics (technical metrics, IFRS 17 metrics) and financial planning (operating plan) defined by Finance.

Business steering and analytical insights

Under the guidance of the Head of UW Planning and Forecasting, the role holder will also:

  • Support the annual performance analysis process worldwide for SBS (Single Risk) portfolios.
  • Contribute to quarterly performance reviews of the SBS and Syndicate business.
  • Provide business insights and analyses to identify deviations from plans, trends, and drivers of performance.
  • Support the CUO SBS and Head of SBS by developing analytics to monitor performance, undertake market studies, and benchmarking exercises to identify opportunities.
  • Help establish a single source of truth within P&C for all business performance metrics for the P&C CEO, CUO, and management.
  • Assist UW functions with information required for regulators, internal procedures, marketing actions, and reporting to reinsurers/retrocessionaires.

Contribution to analytical tools and data quality

Additionally, you will:

  • Follow guidance to harmonize plan and renewal processes across P&C divisions and regions.
  • Enhance analytical tools and methodologies, creating dashboards and aggregation tools for performance assessment.
  • Ensure underwriting data is fit for analysis.
  • Improve data accuracy and process efficiency, automate where possible, and investigate technological solutions.

Required experience & competencies

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance, in a technical role (actuarial, modeling, or underwriting support).
  • Actuarial background preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with strategic thinking and presentation abilities.
  • IT skills including programming (e.g., SQL, Python, R) are a plus.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders locally in London and globally in a multicultural environment.
  • Good team player, capable of developing internal and external networks.

Required Education

  • Highly skilled technical person with a quantitative background (e.g., Bachelor/Master in Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, etc.).
  • Data scientist or actuarial background is a major asset.
  • Additional insurance or financial studies are desirable.
