Back Market, a global marketplace for refurbished devices, is seeking a Business Analyst Intern in the Trade‑In team in Paris. You will extract, model, and visualize data, improve tools and dashboards, and help the team understand performance drivers. This hands‑on internship combines analytics with real business impact.

You will work 35 hours/week in a hybrid setup (Paris, France) starting January 2027 for 6 months, with an internship agreement provided by your school.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or equivalent with analytics focus.
• Excellent data extraction, manipulation, analysis, modeling and visualization skills.
• Comfort using SQL, Google Sheets, Tableau or similar tools.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to build complex models.
• Clear communication to make technical concepts accessible to non‑technical audiences.
• Autonomous and capable of managing multiple tasks and projects.
• Eagerness to learn in a fast‑paced environment and work with a team.

Responsabilités

From pricing and customer lifecycle to customer satisfaction and automation, the team uses data to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and drive high‑impact decisions across the business.

As a Business Analyst Intern in the Trade‑In team, you will support both strategic analysis and day‑to‑day operations. You will work on extracting, modeling, and visualizing data, improving tools and dashboards, and helping the team better understand performance drivers. This is a hands‑on internship with strong exposure to business topics, operational processes, and automation initiatives, ideal for someone who wants to combine analytics with real business impact.

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT):

• 80% - Business & Data Analysis
  • Support the team with data extraction, manipulation, analysis, modeling, and visualization needs.
  • Help maintain, update, and improve circularity performance and operations tools, including reports, trackers, dashboards, alerting processes, and operational processes based on automated queries.
  • Assist the team in monitoring and analyzing circularity services performance based on key performance indicators on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Contribute to challenging KPIs and tools, and propose ideas to improve the efficiency and accuracy of tracking and analysis.
  • Participate in root cause analyses to better understand performance drivers and identify potential levers for sustainable improvement.
  • Support ad hoc analyses to explore and size opportunities to grow the business and/or increase profitability. Assist the team in modeling and sizing project impact, and help ensure projects and processes are supported by clean, reliable data.
  • Help maintain and update documentation about circularity data, including access to key databases, key queries, methodologies, important analyses, as well as onboarding and training materials.
• 20% - Operations & Automation
  • Support the team with daily operational processes, such as alerts and incidents related to shipping, pricing, risks, and other topics, while helping identify opportunities to improve and automate them.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives leveraging AI, such as reporting, analysis, and task automation.

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF:

• You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or an equivalent field, with a specialization in data and analytics based in France and your school can provide an internship agreement
• You have strong skills in data extraction, manipulation, analysis, modeling, and visualization
• You are comfortable using SQL, Google Sheets, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools
• You have strong mathematical skills and are able to build complex models
• You can communicate clearly and make technical work accessible to non‑technical audiences
• You are autonomous and able to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time
• You enjoy hands‑on problem solving and are not afraid to dive into operational topics
• Team spirit is essential for you, and you are someone people enjoy working with
• You are 100% comfortable in spoken and written English, as this is required for the role
• Bonus points if you have experience with process automation tools such as Workato or AI agent creation
• Bonus points if you already have advanced SQL and Tableau experience in a business environment
• Bonus points if you have worked with Google Analytics, Data Studio, or Amplitude
• Bonus points if you speak additional languages such as French, German, Spanish, or Italian
• You are willing to learn and grow in a fast‑paced environment

About The Internship
