Description du poste

As a Biomedical Engineer, you will have the rewarding opportunity to contribute to the development of the Philips Capsule Medical Device Information Platform, a single technology platform that helps medical professionals make more informed decisions and transform from reactive to proactive care across the entire health system. Your principal task will be designing specifications for drivers that will integrate medical devices into our solution.

You are responsible for :

1. Reading medical device communication protocols to understand how the device transmits data.
2. Reading medical device user manuals to understand how the devices are used in a hospital setting.
3. Understanding medical device parameters (patient’s vital signs, device settings, device alarms) and mapping them to our database.
4. Writing simple code to transform data from the medical device to our solution.
5. Creating test scenarios to ensure the mappings and code work as expected.
6. Proposing technical designs for driver specifications and presenting them to the Biomedical Engineering team.
7. Providing biomedical expertise throughout the driver development lifecycle.
8. Collaborating closely with Development Engineers to provide release candidates for testing.
9. Working with V&V Engineers to debug potential issues.
10. Engaging with medical device vendors to gain knowledge about the devices being integrated.
11. Reporting project status to management and leading problem resolution discussions with team members.

You are part of :

The Clinical Integration & Insights department, an international team working with Development and V&V Engineers across the globe (US, France, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, India). You will be part of the design team building drivers for various medical device categories, bridging the gap between hospital devices and our solution, and providing insights on how clinicians and doctors will use the data.

To succeed in this role, you will need :

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of medical devices used in hospitals and the data they collect.
• Familiarity with data structures such as Binary, ASCII, XML, JSON, HL7, etc.
• Basic understanding of computer programming.
• Ability to investigate technical issues independently and propose solutions.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
