Institut Curie Research Center is a major player in cancer research and treatment. It comprises a hospital group and a research center with over 1000 employees, focusing on developing basic research to improve cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics. The research is aligned with the continuum between basic research and innovation, serving laboratories in stress and cancer, directed by Fatima Mechta-Grigoriou, and computational biology, directed by Hervé Isambert.
The project, funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe, Mission Cancer 2023, is titled "Assessing the role of intratumoral microbiota in therapy responses using patient-derived tumor-on-chip" (Acronym: ARTURO). It aims to explore how intratumoral microbiota influence therapy resistance, especially to immunotherapies, using innovative 3D tumor-on-chip models, integrating clinical data, omics analysis, live imaging, and single-cell transcriptomics. The project focuses on non-small cell lung cancer and invasive lobular breast cancer, involving collaborations across France, Italy, and Portugal.
Relevant publications include recent studies on anti-PD-1 treatment responses, causal effects in live-cell imaging, and tumor microenvironment landscapes.
An open PhD project on the subject is possible.
All opportunities are open to people with disabilities.
Application deadline: 31/07/2024. Please send your CV, motivation letter, and at least 2 references to apply.
