Spatial Transcriptomics. SIngle cell RNAseq
Bioinformatic engineer position at Institut Pasteur, Paris, France
Single cell analysis and spatial transcriptomics for cancer immunology
Position
A bioinformatic engineer position is available in the Guermonprez lab at Institut Pasteur Paris (“Dendritic cells and adaptive immunity” Unit, Immunology Department https://research.pasteur.fr/fr/department/immunology/ ).
The Guermonprez lab investigates the role of dendritic cell subsets in regulating T cell responses (https://www.guermonprezlab.org ).
Project
The Guermonprez lab investigates the cellular basis of anti-tumor immunity. We intend to understand the spatial organization of immune infiltratres in the tumor micro-environment (dendritic cells and anti-tumoral T lymphocytes) and to decipher how immunotherapies impact on these processes. The main objectives of this project are:
- to implement single cell RNAseq analysis of immune cells infiltrating tumors,
- to implement spatial transcriptomics of the tumor microenvironment (VISIUM HD, Merscope, e.g.),
- to explore new avenues to integrate high dimensional imaging datasets with spatial transcriptomics approaches.
Mission
The candidate will:
- Conduct analyses of experimental data generated in the lab (single cell RNAseq, spatial transcriptomics)
- Present results in laboratory and collaborative meetings.
- Collaborate actively with scientists performing wet bench experiments (PhD, postdocs).
- Interact productively with other bioinformatic engineers or researchers on Institut Pasteur campus.
- Formalize results for publications and participate to the assembly of publication manuscripts.
Profile
We are looking for highly motivated individuals motivated to bring new insights into the biology of adaptive immunity against cancer.
The candidate is expected to have:
- A specialist training in bioinformatics at M2/Msc level, grandes écoles or PhD level.
- Interest for methodologies related to the analysis of biological processes at the single cell level
- Dynamism, self-organization, autonomy and drive.
- Good interaction skills with wet bench scientists and biologists in general.
- Enthusiasm for academic research on cancer immunology and immunotherapy.
Previous expertise with handling of transcriptomics data, single cell RNA sequencing datas, spatial transcriptomics or TCR sequencing at the single cell level will be appreciated.
