The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) is looking for a motivated scientist to join ID13, a state-of-the-art beamline dedicated to micro-/nano-beamscanning diffraction/scattering experiments, often combined with X-ray fluorescence analysis.
The beamline offers a variety of specific sample environments for in-situ/in-vivo/operando experiments, optionally exploiting the beam’s coherence. Our current instrumental interests also include the area of sub-ms time-resolved and three-dimensional methods such as micro-/nano-diffraction tomography. The main scientific fields covered are soft matter/biology, sustainable energy and functional materials, cultural heritage.
Currently the beamline is at the verge of the conceptual design phase of amajor beamline refurbishment to be started, offering the exciting and unique opportunity to participate in a phase of substantial redesign and innovation, contributing with specific expertise, ideas and creativity.
