What You Will Do

To provide a comprehensive Portering / Security Service within Arran War Memorial Hospital, Lamlash, Isle of Arran.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job

You will have good communication, verbal or otherwise and practical skills and have the ability to operate a wide range of vehicles and mechanical & moving aids.

The Post Holder Will Require The Following Skills/qualifications

  • Full Current Driving License (essential)
  • High level of mobility and stamina
  • IT computer literate
  • Good Communication
  • Ability to comply with Departmental Procedures within a very large department
  • Ability to work individually and in a team setting
  • Ability to complete work schedule within designated timescale

Hours: This is a bank post, There is a team of 3 porters who cover on-call over a 4 week period. This post covers 9 sessions (4 sessions - 3.45pm 7.45am Mon-Thurs.

5 sessions Fri 3.45pm 7.45am is 1 session and 4 sessions to cover both day & night Saturday and Sunday until 7.45am on a Monday morning)

The 7 nights of the rota are split 4 nights 1 week and 3 on another.

You would also be expected to help cover leave.

On call is mainly to complete changes of oxygen cylinders, mortuary duties and alarms. Full training is provided and a driving licence is essential.

Payment is £26.47 per session and additional payment made for time if called out.

Driving Licence/Car Ownership

Full Car Driving licence is essential to this role and you must evidence this.
