Welcome to the Jungle is hiring a senior backend engineer to design, build and maintain scalable services and databases. You'll work closely with a PM and Designer in a cross-functional squad across Paris and London.

Our stack centers on Elixir; while you don't need to know it at first, curiosity about it is essential. Expect strong testing, CI/CD, security and a pragmatic, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Experience with scalable services and databases.
• Strong testing, CI/CD and software craftsmanship.

Responsabilités

• Design, build and maintain scalable back-end services, APIs and database schemas
• Write clean, well-tested code and review teammates' code with feedback
• Take part in architecture decisions and document outcomes
• Work directly with PM and Designer to clarify priorities and user needs
• Debug production issues and fix the root causes
• Write unit and integration tests and maintain test coverage
• Monitor performance and address degradation
• Follow security best practices and handle vulnerabilities
• Handle support requests and bug fixes within SLAs
• Contribute to CI/CD and developer experience
