The product and team:

You will work in a team of Data Engineers distributed between Switzerland and Latvia to migrate applications to the cloud along with developing and operating new data products.

As AWS Data Engineer you will:

  • Validate migrated AWS data pipelines from Teradata
  • Develop new high-quality data products on AWS
  • Operate AWS based applications, including on-call duty
  • Guide the team on AWS
  • Tech stack you will work with: AWS, Glue, S3, Airflow, Redshift (Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution)
  • Performance tuning

Must-have:

  • Proven experience of AWS with Glue, S3, Airflow, Redshift and Apache Spark and Iceberg
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript, PySpark (Glue jobs) and ability to write Airflow DAGs
  • Strong know-how in SQL and know-how in data modeling
  • Proven experience in data warehousing
  • Good knowledge of the Data Mesh
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, reliable, accountable and solution-oriented
  • Used to work in a Lean & Agile setup
  • Ability and readiness to guide and technically support teammates in Latvia and in Switzerland

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Teradata or similar, Scala, Kafka and DataFrames
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitoring of applications
  • AWS Certifications
