Job Description

AUTOMOTIVE / HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Automotive/ Equipment Mechanic for a company based in Tuscaloosa, AL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.Pay Rate
$40.00 per hour
Schedule and Hours
10 hour shifts.

Automotive/Heavy Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform routine maintenance and repair on vehicles and heavy equipment.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, particularly involving electrical harnesses.
3. Install, inspect, and repair electrical wiring and harness systems.
4. Work with diagnostic tools and software to identify faults.
5. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
6. Maintain detailed service records and report issues to management.
7. Assist with parts ordering and inventory management as needed.
8. Provide guidance to junior mechanics when required.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. ASE Certification preferred but not required.
2. Experience with fleet maintenance and diesel engines.
3. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
4. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic.
5. Proven expertise with electrical harnesses, wiring, and diagnostics.
6. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
