Description du poste

As an Athletes & Operations Manager, you'll play an important role in the Operations team. You'll be responsible for managing accommodation and transport for stakeholders, as well as liaising with riders. The operations manager works closely with the event manager to ensure the smooth running of events. Your role is crucial to the company's success, and your contributions will be highly valued.

What the FWT

The Freeride World Tour (FWT) team comprises 15-20 passionate staff based near Lausanne, Switzerland. They organize the five-stop Freeride World Tour circuit, including the renowned Xtreme Verbier event, coordinate over 90 qualifiers and junior events globally, and oversee a community of over + licensed riders.

This entails extensive work and travel, with time spent at events and engaging with the FWT community, which includes staff, riders, and partners. Working with FWT offers a life-changing experience, fostering personal and professional growth.

The environment is dynamic and encourages proactivity and innovation, with minimal hierarchy and micromanagement. Flexible work arrangements are promoted alongside necessary physical teamwork.

Your Missions

1. OPERATIONS

A. EVENT MANAGEMENT

  • Define staff presence (arrival/departure)
  • Organize seasonal events
  • Coordinate with local organizers
  • Manage side events (Opening Ceremony, Dinner, meetings)
  • Support the Event Manager in tasks like skipass, volunteers, offices, accreditation, F&B, documentation, and partnerships

B. ACCOMMODATION

  • Manage accommodation system throughout the season
  • Identify needs, plan, and establish contracts
  • Coordinate with local teams
  • Book for stakeholders, manage rooming lists, and handle administrative tasks

C. TRANSPORT

  • Oversee transportation logistics for the season
  • Identify needs, plan, and coordinate with travel agencies and rental services

2. ATHLETES

A. ADMIN

  • Manage athlete registration, communication, documentation, and insurance
  • Coordinate athlete accommodations and deliverables (bibs, medals, trophies)
  • Handle prize money and invoicing

B. ON EVENTS

  • Address athlete needs and demands
  • Coordinate athlete lounge and event-specific activities like Riders Meeting, Bib Draw, Media Day, etc.

Profile Requirements

  • Degree in Tourism, Business, or Sports Management
  • Fluent in English and French
  • 2-3 years operational experience in international events
  • Project and event management skills
  • Interest in sports and outdoor winter activities
  • Autonomous, rigorous, assertive, team-oriented
  • Capable of handling pressure and extensive travel during winter
  • Willingness to work 24/7 during events
