A charity organization is looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join their Children Disability Network Team in Kerry. This role involves working with children and young adults with disabilities, providing interdisciplinary support under supervision. A Level 9 Psychology qualification is essential. Ideal candidates should have a driving license and knowledge of the Progressing Disability Services Model. This position offers a salary scale starting at €33,569.

Based in Listowel, Co. Kerry (Outreach to Castleisland/Tralee)
Job Summary
This post is in Network 1 based in Listowel with outreach to families from Castleisland Farranfore area working as part of an interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young adults, 0-18yrs and their families. This will include children with Intellectual, Physical, Sensory disability, children on the Autistic Spectrum and children at risk of or query developmental delay; where their needs require the support of an interdisciplinary disability team. This team is under the national model of service provision “Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People” lead by the HSE. The successful candidate will be employed by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland. The North Kerry Children Disability Network Team is based in Listowel with outreach to families from Castleisalnd and Farranfore area. Assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided by an interdisciplinary team. The CDNT aims to maximise the child/ young adult’s full potential and works within the context of the family and community, empowering and supporting parents/care givers and family members.
The Assistant Psychologist will report Children’s Disability Network Manager through the line management structure and will work under the supervision and direction of a nominated supervising Psychologist as appropriate to the needs of the Children’s Disability Network Team.
The Assistant Psychologist will ultimately be responsible to the Director of Services.
The Assistant Psychologist works at all times under the supervision of a Psychologist in the CDNT to support the provision of services to children and families. Their work will depend on service and team needs, and based on their knowledge, competencies and skill set. The Assistant Psychologist is a member of the inter-disciplinary team and takes part in team meetings, training and development.
3. Age
The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants.
* Public Servants not affected by this legislation:
Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age.
Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service

Salary Scale: €33,569
* Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due now will only be paid from date of submission of documents.
