Overview

Assistant Professor in Operations Management at SKEMA Business School. Discipline: Operations Management. Employment Type: Permanent Full-time. Posted: 09/09/2025. Taking office: From September 2026.

The successful candidate will develop and/or lead academic research projects to publish in the field's highest-quality journals. The position is permanent with a full-time contract. Salary and conditions are competitive, in line with international standards. SKEMA Business School offers publication bonuses for peer-reviewed publications. The language of work and teaching is English. Knowledge of French is not required and is not a criterion for selection. SKEMA Business School offers support in learning French.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead research projects to publish in top journals in Operations Management and related fields.
• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in Operations Management and Data Science.
• Contribute to student mentorship and academic citizenship; engage in service and outreach activities.
• Collaborate with the SKEMA Centre for Analytics and Management Science and other research colleagues; contribute to the School’s strategic projects.

Qualifications

• Hold or about to complete a Ph.D. in Operations Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field (with orientation in Operations Management and Data Science).
• Strong research orientation and track record, demonstrated by publications in respected journals on the CABS-FNEGE-FT50 lists, or strong potential.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a collegial environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellence in analytical methods.
• Strong interest in investing in research focusing on Artificial Intelligence in Management.
• Commitment to service and/or outreach activities.
• Willingness to teach and supervise in Operations Management and Data Science at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
• Academic citizenship; commitment to the life of the institution and to the School’s strategy.

Current research themes include blockchain in supply chains, healthcare and project scheduling, optimization under uncertainty, queuing theory, interpretable machine learning, mathematical economics, and transportation optimization. The center hosts regular research seminars and international workshops.
