Télécom Paris invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor to join the S²A team in IDS. The role carries a prestigious Hi! PARIS Chair with a substantial recruitment package and opportunities to advance quantum AI research in statistical learning.
The successful candidate will conduct interdisciplinary research, contribute to teaching with reduced load, and build partnerships within a world-class AI and data science ecosystem in the Paris region.
Télécom Paris, an international multidisciplinary center for education, research, and innovation, is a leader in the digital world.
We are seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor to join the Signal, Statistics, and Machine Learning [S2A] team in the Image, Data, and Signal (IDS) department.
You will hold a prestigious Hi! PARIS Chair, accompanied by an exceptional recruitment package (~300k€) designed to accelerate your scientific ambitions. Télécom Paris is a partner in the Hi! PARIS Cluster 2030 program, an ambitious initiative aimed at building a world-class research and training hub in artificial intelligence and data science. The consortium brings together several leading French institutions, including IP Paris, HEC Paris, INRIA, and the CNRS, with financial support from the France 2030 AI Cluster.
You will conduct interdisciplinary research in statistical learning (theory and algorithms) related to the methodological questions raised by quantum computing. The prospect of harnessing the properties of quantum superposition and entanglement via quantum computers has recently given rise to the field of quantum statistical learning (learning for quantum information processing and quantum computing for learning), which aims to design new types of algorithms and establish solid theoretical foundations for them, and is developing rapidly. The potential offered by quantum technology to explore very large spaces very quickly and to process massive amounts of data opens the door to new paradigms for learning.
