Description du poste

AS&I, one of the three business units of Constellium, has 12 plants in US,Europe and China ; 2 JV and one R&D center in UK delivering aluminum extruded products mainly for automotive, industry and Rail market.

AS&I Finance leads the finance function across the BU. This includes the following activities :

  • Management support : advise and support in significant contracts and projects, establish procedures and systems to ensure an efficient management of the BU
  • Controllership & Accounting : advise and support in producing consolidated accounts of Constellium Group, roll out new accounting standards policy within the BU, prepare financial statements for the BU and for the Group, support external auditors in their diligences
  • Management controlling : maximize value for the shareholders, ensure optimization of working capital and cash-flow generation, lead forecast and budget process, produce monthly BU Management reporting, develop and maintain BU reporting systems, support in investment analysis
  • Risk management, internal controls and compliance.

In this context AS&I finance function needs a BU finance manager at BU level to lead various activities :

  • Closing and reporting at BU level : Prepare information systems and instructions, perform analytics to explain results, highlight financial risks and opportunities.
  • Accounting : Support local finance team in analysis of complex accounting matters and, if need be, inform the Group technical accounting team. Provide some trainings on some specific accounting matters when required
  • Internal audit & internal control : is the primary BU contact with Group IA & IC team, recommend actions of improvement, follow the sites management control deficiencies and actions up, perform SOX controls at BU level, , perform B / S reviews, Oversee the deployment of balance sheet reviews and internal controls within the BU and ensure compliance with DOA
  • Sales contract : collect documents related to accounting treatment reviews from plant CFOs (OTC#1 control) and give feedback on compliance
  • BU central costs : Budget, forecast, analyze and report
  • CAPEX : Responsibility for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of Capex database reporting
  • Contribute to site performance analysis and preparation of the annual budget and LTPlan
  • Projects : Support the BU on finance-related projects (e.g. cost saving initiative, working capital, information system, new accounting standards policy)

The AS&I BU finance manager will support as well the BU CFO in his / her duties such as defining action plans (costs and TWC reduction, …), checking compliance to rules (SOx, B / S reviews, transfer pricing,…), improving understanding and transparency of BU results (actuals and forecasts), liaised and interact with corporate functions, representing the BU and sites as appropriate as well as with other BU departments ( Strategy or Operational Excellence) to ensure efficient BU organization.The position requires to travel to the different sites and potentially supporting these sites locally on the ground for a certain period.The BU finance manager is responsible for all accounting & financial activities related to internal controls, external & internal reporting at BU level.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Prepare and optimize information systems, check data to provide consistent, relevant and reliable data for closing and reporting purposes at BU level
  • Ensures accounting / legal / tax / financial / treasury compliance with Group rules, and is the key contact point for CSTM corporate correspondents
  • Defines and sets up instruments to detect and measure risks and alerts BU CFO and President
  • Actively supports & analyzes current results and at a lesser extent the establishment of budget, forecasts & 10-year plans
  • Participates in various special projects at AS&I and at Group level

Leadership competencies, technical skills requirement

  • The individual should be a mature, seasoned professional with controlling and accounting experience and a track record of successful collaboration, teamwork and performance across the organization.
  • The individual must be able to operate in a feedback-rich, team-based environment and have constructive and positive interpersonal skills.

Specific competencies :

  • BSc / BA in accounting or in finance
  • Good knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance and of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles USGAAP)
  • Language fluency in English. French and German are a plus
  • Good practice of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Hyperion
  • Self-motivated and Ability to work cross-functionally and lead team members across departments to complete projects according to both internal and external deadlines is vital
  • Polished communication including an ability to listen to the needs of the business unit, research and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and simplified manner, and present findings and recommendations in both oral and written presentations in laymen’s terms
  • Ability to influence / lead team members who are not direct reports
  • Requires effective written and oral communication skills, sufficient to communicate with all levels of the organization, visitors and customers
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality
