As an Art Director, you play a critical role in shaping visual narratives and elevating brands through conceptually strong and beautifully executed work.

At AKQA Paris, you’ll craft compelling visuals that resonate with diverse audiences, leading creative sessions and ensuring high standards from concept to production. You’ll guide emerging team members, collaborate across teams, and maintain brand-aligned style guides, consistently gathering inspiring imagery to elevate client work.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Lead and contribute to the development of original, compelling visual concepts across campaigns, content, and digital experiences.
  • Craft visual approaches tailored to a diverse range of clients and audiences, always grounded in strategic insight.
  • Collaborate with copywriters and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated ideas that align with client goals and brand values.
  • Champion creative quality throughout the process—from concept to final production—ensuring consistency, craft, and attention to detail at every touchpoint.
  • Present work with confidence and clarity to internal teams and clients, clearly articulating the rationale behind creative decisions.
  • Develop and maintain visual style guides that reflect brand identity and enable creative exploration.
  • Stay attuned to cultural trends, breakthrough design work, and innovation across industries—regularly gathering and sharing references that elevate the work.
  • Lead creative workshops and provide mentorship to emerging designers, fostering a culture of growth and creative excellence.
  • Collaborate with teams across strategy, experience design, and client services to ensure alignment and consistency throughout each project.
  • Ensure efficient workflows across pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
  • Contribute to internal showcases and case studies that highlight the impact and effectiveness of your work.

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • A compelling portfolio that demonstrates exceptional art direction, conceptual thinking, and craft across various platforms and formats.
  • A collaborative spirit with strong communication and presentation skills—both visual and verbal.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Keynote; familiarity with editing, motion design, and AI-based creative tools is a plus.
  • A strategic thinker who can translate business and brand objectives into meaningful creative work.
  • Able to manage multiple project streams while maintaining high standards and consistency.
  • Passionate about storytelling through typography, layout, motion, and design systems.
  • Experience in mentoring junior creatives and running workshops or training sessions.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French is a strong advantage.
  • Previous work in luxury skincare, fashion or beauty is considered a distinct advantage.
  • A degree in Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred.
