*Nordson Industrial Coating Systems*, a global leader in industrial coating systems, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Area Sales Manager (m/f/d) to join our team in France. Summary of the role

The Area Sales Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for supporting and building exemplary Nordson client relationships and creating an effortless experience through all commercial and service interactions. This role involves developing a network with industry partners, generating leads, creating new business opportunities, and managing the sales process from market research to order closure, including technical advice, assistance, and quality service. The role also requires strategic engagement with departments like Marketing, Quoting Support, Operations, and Engineering to develop strategies, solve problems, and drive improvements based on customer data and feedback.

  • Role and Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales targets by deploying NBS Next methodology, developing detailed territory maps, and reviewing them quarterly with the Regional Manager.
  • Conduct market research, qualify leads, prepare and present quotations, close sales, and ensure smooth project implementation and information transfer to relevant departments.
  • Use NBS Next understanding to assess customer requirements, trends, risks, opportunities, and satisfaction levels, responding to complex application inquiries.
  • Manage assets and P&L, including developing forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide vision and leadership, taking full responsibility for performance and results.
  • Ensure proper installation and start-up of systems with technical personnel.
  • Brief Customer Service Representatives on new installations and transfer account responsibilities effectively.
  • Conduct well-documented performance reviews.
  • Continuously improve processes and operations for higher quality and efficiency, including adopting new tools and systems.
  • Lead high-impact projects, accountable for their success.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and software enhancements, communicating relevant updates to the team.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Engineering to support customer opportunities and resolve issues.
  • Participate in trade shows, support marketing activities, and organize local customer events and presentations.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethics codes.
  • Provide customer service in emergency situations.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Automotive, Material Science, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of successful experience selling high-value capital equipment, preferably in the finishing industry.
  • Basic electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Home office based in the North-East (Troyes & Reims area).
  • Solution-based selling skills, from developing customer needs to project follow-up.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and proactive thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence change through data analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, CRM tools, etc.
  • Team-oriented approach.
Travel

Estimated 60% travel within the EMEA region and occasional travel to US headquarters.
