Job Description:

Nalco Water, a world leader in industrial and process water treatment, is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer Area Manager to join our Emerging Markets group in mainland France and Central Africa. The role involves prospecting and providing technical assistance to a portfolio of industrial clients, mainly in the agri-food sector, including breweries, cane sugar mills, and palm oil mills.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Provide customers and prospects with value-added service through technical expertise and economic assessments.
  2. Achieve set objectives and turnover targets.
  3. Develop turnover among existing customers and prospects.
  4. Lead and train a local team of Application Engineers.

The position is based in France, with frequent travel to Central African countries (approximately 50% of the time).

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Chemical engineer or related field with 3-5 years of experience in technical sales and team management preferred.
  2. Knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
  3. Sensitivity and cultural knowledge of Africa are highly valued.
  4. Fluent in French; good command of English.
  5. Proactive, dynamic, motivated, organized, autonomous, and practical.
  6. Excellent communication skills with technical and operational stakeholders.
  7. Availability, rigor, open-mindedness, team spirit, and initiative.
  8. Proficiency in Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
