The City of Fredericksburg is seeking an Aquatics Maintenance Technician to maintain City pools, splashpads, parks and facilities. You will operate and repair aquatic facility equipment, manage water chemistry, and maintain records with a 40-hour weekly schedule (seasonal).

The role requires safety compliance, independent work, and strong communication with staff and the public. Starting pay is $25/hour with paid time off, retirement, holidays and group health insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CPO or AFO certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with pool pumps, chemical feeders, controllers and chemicals preferred.

Responsabilités

• Operates, inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs aquatic facility equipment and systems.
• Maintains pool water chemistry and records to health standards.
• Orders chemicals through city contract; coordinates service for equipment as needed.
• Cleans pools and related equipment; performs routine filter/backwash procedures.
• Performs seasonal opening, winterization, and preventative maintenance of aquatic facilities.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of parks, facilities, and irrigation systems.
