The Role: Regional Head of Upstream Consulting for EMEA

The Impact: A Consulting Executive Director, Upstream is responsible for leading client engagements involving strategic support, transaction due diligence, portfolio and asset evaluation, technical analysis, economic modeling and/or advanced analytics. The role will also lead practice development activities, strategy formulation, team building, and business development. The role is part of a global leadership team for Upstream Consulting, with accountability for EMEA region business performance and personnel management.
Responsibilities:
Regional Management
- Manage regional opportunity pipeline and accountable for revenue delivery
- Coordinate with other regional leaders and global Upstream peers
Business Development
- Network and develop trusted relationships with industry clients
- Lead teams in developing opportunities (scoping, proposal oversight)
- Manage proposal presentation and negotiations with clients
Practice Building
- Formulate strategy and lead initiatives on innovative consulting offerings
- Develop thought leadership and represent our expertise externally
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the practice
Project Management
- Direct project teams in execution of scope and oversee deliverable quality
- Manage client engagement and facilitate discussions during project
- Ensure project delivery and completion while identifying follow-on opportunities
Leadership, Mentoring, and Expertise
- Teach team members analytical and communication skills
- Share industry knowledge and expertise on projects and to team
- Lead by example to foster a culture of partnership, integrity, and excellence
What We're Looking For:
- 15+ years of upstream consulting, strategic planning, E&P / OFS industry, or analytics experience with energy-related experience
- Proven track record of client service excellence and business development
- Cultural Competence: understand regional culture and business practices.
- Regional client relationships: proven ability to develop and cultivate relationships with local operators, NOCs, and governments.
- Prior management consulting or strategic advisory experience strongly preferred
- A bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent degree) in economics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or energy-related technical field (Geology, Petroleum Engineering, etc.)
- Must be capable of not only seeing the 'big picture' and communicating a compelling story but also delving into its technical details to highlight key elements
- A keen attention to detail and highly effective organization and prioritization skills, including the ability to stay on task and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision, but also to understand the needs of other consultants and researchers, and the timing of those needs
- Languages in addition to English, being proficient in Arabic would be beneficial.
