We are looking for our next reserving actuary apprentice as of 01/09/2025 at our AXA Headquarters!

Location: 25 avenue Matignon, 8th arrondissement Paris.

Within Group Ceded Reinsurance, you will join the Reserving team as a reserving actuary, charged with enhancing traditional actuarial methods by using machine learning techniques.

CAT risk is one of the most significant risks impacting the financial results of AXA SA. Within AXA Group, a standardized database designed to consolidate CAT claims with their key characteristics (insured amount, number of affected policies, geographic location, line of business involved, etc.) is being built.

What You’ll Do

1. Leverage the database to develop new modeling approaches to estimate the ultimate loss of CAT events in the early stage of the claims developments.
2. Combine traditional actuarial methods with machine learning techniques to utilize the available data fully and improve the accuracy of ultimate loss estimates.

Votre Profil

Who You Are

1. You have some experience in programming (R or VBA) and in Excel.
2. You possess in-depth knowledge of applied mathematics (actuarial science, statistics, etc.).
3. You are currently in your last year of engineering or actuarial school (ISUP, ENSAE, ISFA, Dauphine, DUAS, EURIA, etc.) or pursuing a master's degree in applied mathematics at university with an interest in actuarial sciences.
4. You enjoy teamwork, sharing knowledge, and bringing initiatives on new subjects.
5. The working language within the team is French, but proficiency in English is required (for technical documentation and communication with other teams in the Group).
