Qualifications:

1. Experience in programming (e.g., R or VBA) and proficiency in Excel.
2. In-depth knowledge of applied mathematics, including actuarial science and statistics.
3. Currently in your last year of engineering or actuarial school (e.g., ISUP, ENSAE, ISFA, Dauphine, DUAS, EURIA) or pursuing a master's degree in applied mathematics at university with an interest in actuarial sciences.
4. Enjoys teamwork, sharing knowledge, and is eager to innovate and initiate new projects.
5. Proficiency in French is required; proficiency in English is also necessary for technical documentation and communication within the Group.

We are seeking our next reserving actuary apprentice starting from 01/09/2025 at our AXA Headquarters!

Location: 25 avenue Matignon, 8th arrondissement, Paris.

Within Group Ceded Reinsurance, you will join the Reserving team as a reserving actuary, focusing on enhancing traditional methods with machine learning techniques.

CAT risk significantly impacts AXA's financial results. We are building a standardized database to consolidate CAT claims with key characteristics such as insured amount, affected policies, location, and line of business.

What You'll Do:

1. Utilize the database to develop new modeling approaches to estimate the ultimate loss from CAT events early in the claims process.
2. Combine traditional actuarial methods with machine learning to improve the accuracy of loss estimates by leveraging all available data.
