Job Description: Junior Risk Modeler for Natural Catastrophes

We are seeking a motivated Junior Risk Modeler for Natural Catastrophes to join our team at the AXA headquarters in Paris, starting September 2025 for a duration of one year.

Location

25 avenue Matignon, 8th arrondissement, Paris.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Participate in developing and implementing the next-generation Severe Convective Storm risk model in Europe, focusing on hazard and vulnerability modules
  • Contribute to enhancing the spatial and financial disaggregation modules to better capture AXA's portfolio in natural catastrophe modeling
Candidate Profile and Requirements

Educational Background: Currently in the last year of a master's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, engineering, or related fields.

Skills and Interests:

  • Strong interest in climate modeling and climate change issues
  • Analytical mindset with proficient programming skills in Python and R
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced international environment
