Advantest Corporation is seeking an Application Engineering Manager to lead a team of application engineers supporting a key European account. You will align with the account director and Key Account Manager to define strategy and ensure execution across customer interfaces.

You will coach engineers, set objectives, and drive development paths while contributing to product-unit collaborations and transforming SAE processes with AI insights. Travel is expected.

• Prepare and present monthly activity reports and escalation management.
• Collaborate with Product Unit to ease day-to-day execution and escalation handling.

The Application Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a team of application engineers supporting a key account in coordination with the Application Engineering account director and the Key Account Manager. This responsibility includes:

BUSINESS, CUSTOMER ACTIVITIES

• core geographic coverage : Europe
• contribute to the definition of account strategy
• implement agreed strategies
• interface with customer engineering and operation managers
• develop and manage relations with customer to enable best business conditions
• elaborate monthly activity reporting
• anticipate and manage escalation

TEAM MANAGEMENT

• define objectives for each team member in line with account strategy
• include team member in relevant customer and internal meetings
• manage internal communication to leverage team awareness and momentum (customer, technology, projects...) - meetings, workshops
• provide development path for each team member, based on recorded achievements, potential, observed gaps and desires expressed by the engineer
• contribute to brainstorming on SAE job transformation induced by AI

RELATION WITH PRODUCT UNIT

• develop, manage relation with PU stakeholders to ease day to day execution and potential escalation

Requirements

This job is at crossroad of people, business and technology.

The candidate has a solid experience in 93000 application engineering support with customers. He will be able to have a good technical understanding of project discussions with the customer, although relying primarily on his own experts for managing these discussions.

EDUCATION

• master degree in electronics, automation, software engineering

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• consistent application engineering support experience in various situations
• handling of customer relation, including senior management level
• natural communicator with team members, customer, management
• foster relaxed discussion space in context of eventually stressed situations (internal, external)
• first management or leadership experience : specific interest in people
• Good presentation skills
• Experienced with different stages of a test program development, including
  • test fixturing development
  • test program development
  • test program debugging
  • qualification for production
• Familiar with 93000 product roadmap and technologies
• teamwork with account managers
• Fluent english ; french is a plus
• Comfortable with extensive travel
• Experience in muticultural environment
• Able to analyse complex situations (technical, customer) and report in comprehensive format
• Solid decision taking process based on assessment skills
• Project management skills daily required
