Api Walker is seeking an API Product Owner in Paris to lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our API-as-a-Product initiatives.

You will own the backlog, translate complex API concepts into business value, and collaborate with developers, UX, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional DX through our API portal and documentation. This strategic role requires strong communication and leadership across teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with at least 1 year in API/technical products.
• Strong understanding of API concepts, REST/GraphQL, and standards.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools like Jira/Confluence.

The API Product Owner at API WALKER is a strategic role steering the vision and success of our API-as-a-Product initiatives. You are the vital link between business stakeholders, technical teams, and end-users, ensuring our API products deliver maximum value. You will own the product roadmap, define features, and prioritize the backlog based on market needs and strategic objectives. This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen and business savvy, demanding comfort in both technical and executive conversations. You will champion the API-first mindset, evangelizing the power of well-designed APIs to unlock new business models and drive innovation. We seek a leader who can think strategically about the entire API lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the API product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it aligns with strategic goals.
• Gather and analyze requirements from internal and external stakeholders, including developers and partners.
• Write clear and concise user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
• Work with the UX team to define an exceptional Developer Experience (DX) for the API portal and documentation.
• Monitor API usage, performance, and market trends to make data-driven decisions.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with at least 1 year focused on API or technical products.
• Strong understanding of API concepts, architecture styles (REST, GraphQL), and standards.
• Proven experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira/Confluence.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
• Experience in conducting user research and market analysis.
