Api Walker is looking for a senior API & Integration Architect to lead the design of integration architectures for our clients' digital ecosystems. In this pivotal role, you will translate complex business strategies into robust technical blueprints, guiding enterprises through digital transformation.

You will mentor development teams, enforce API governance standards, and evaluate cutting-edge integration solutions, ensuring excellence in execution while staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT with at least 5+ years in a system/integration architecture role.
• Deep knowledge of API styles like REST, GraphQL, gRPC, AsyncAPI.
• Experience with major API Management solutions.

The API & Integration Architect at API WALKER is a senior expert who designs the backbone of our clients' digital ecosystems. You are the visionary translating complex business strategies into robust, scalable, and secure technical blueprints. Your role is pivotal in guiding large enterprises through their digital transformation, from modernizing legacy systems to building cloud-native platforms. This position requires deep technical expertise across API gateways, iPaaS solutions, and cloud services. As a master of integration patterns, you will act as a trusted advisor to executives and a mentor to development teams, ensuring the architectural vision is executed with excellence. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end integration and API architectures.
• Evaluate and select appropriate API Management, iPaaS, and event-streaming solutions (e.g., Kong, MuleSoft, Kafka).
• Define and enforce API governance, security standards (OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS), and best practices.
• Mentor and guide development teams on architectural principles and implementation details.
• Conduct architecture reviews and audits to ensure compliance and quality.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide strategic recommendations.

Required Skills

• 8+ years in IT with at least 5+ years in a system/integration architecture role.
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of API styles (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, AsyncAPI) and patterns.
• Expertise with at least one major API Management solution (Kong, Apigee, MuleSoft, Gravitee, etc.).
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their integration services.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture and technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
