The industrial site of Chasse-sur-Rhône (20 min south of Lyon, served by train) has 280 employees, is classified SEVESO 3 upper threshold, and specializes in the development and custom production of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

We are seeking a Process Development Analytical Support Engineer (M/F) within the Process Development department as part of new job creation.

You will be directly reporting to the head of the Process Development laboratory and will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating closely with synthesis or chromatography process development teams, serving as the analytical referent, from defining analytical needs to delivering results.
  • Supervising a team of two technicians, managing your schedule in coordination with the Methods and Projects Pole of the Quality Control Department.
  • Performing data recording, analysis, and synthesis of results.
  • Writing reports and developing documentation for internal and external communication.
  • Supporting R&D chemist teams to meet analytical needs for customer projects, including evaluating new synthetic routes and optimizing processes, adapting analytical methods as needed.
  • Participating in continuous improvement of existing products and investigations related to production.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to HSE instructions and contributing to safety culture improvements.
  • Managing consumables and necessary orders efficiently.
  • Maintaining the analytical equipment under your responsibility and ensuring result quality.
  • Monitoring innovations and new technical analysis offers (technology watch).

Qualifications:

  • Chemical engineer with proven R&D experience in analyzing complex organic molecules in fine chemistry or pharmaceuticals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, responsiveness, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with a strong customer orientation.
  • Enthusiastic, open-minded, adaptable, and attentive.
  • Mastery of analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UPLC, NMR, HPLC-MS, GC-MS, and wet chemical analysis.
  • Proficiency in mathematical and computer tools for data interpretation and presentation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations specific to chemical risks.
