Job summary

Kalray seeks an enthusiastic engineering intern to join the UltraEthernet team in Montbonnot-Saint-Martin. You will help define hardware support architectures for new UltraEthernet features and model the architecture to verify operation and performance.

You will also contribute to defining a test plan for RTL teams, ensuring correct implementation and integration within the evolving Kalray IP. This internship offers hands-on experience in cutting-edge networking for AI/datacenter applications.

Qualifications

• C and C++ programming skills are required.
• Knowledge of high-performance networking, HPC and AI datacenters is desirable.
• Experience in modeling architectures and evaluating performance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to defining the HW support architecture for UltraEthernet features introduced by the 1.1 and 1.2 standards.
• Model the architecture to verify correct operation and assess performance within the design.
• Help define a test plan to ensure correct RTL implementation by design teams.

An Intern in Advanced Network Architecture

As part of our UltraEthernet team, you will actively contribute to projects related to the development of Kalray’s UltraEthernet IP. You will contribute to improving Kalray’s IP offering in order to support the company’s activities and growth ambitions.

This internship will give you the opportunity to discover or deepen your knowledge of the electronics and cutting-edge technology sector, develop your skills and put into practice the knowledge acquired during your studies in an innovative and stimulating environment.

The UltraEthernet team specializes in cutting-edge networking technologies used in datacenters, particularly for AI-related applications. Its mission is to define the architecture of Kalray’s IP, evolve it, optimize its performance and ensure its interoperability. This requires a strong understanding of the technical specifications and network topologies used, as well as software models enabling us to explore different architectural scenarios and inform the design choices for our IP.

As such, your main responsibilities will be:

• Contribute to defining the HW support architecture for new features introduced by the UltraEthernet 1.1 and 1.2 standards (e.g., PCM, CSIG, MRC, etc.);
• Contribute to modeling this architecture in order to verify its correct operation, its proper integration into the current design and evaluate its performance;
• Contribute to defining a test plan to ensure the correct implementation of this architecture by the RTL design teams.
