Roles & Responsibilities of the ALM Product Owner

In the context of the ALM project, the Product Owner is the functional referent for the project. The Product Owner oversees all functional implementations to meet Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) business needs.

The Product Owner contributes by ensuring the implementation and testing of the completeness of the ALM solution.

Works closely with the Project Core team and acts as the interface to Information System & Technology (IS&T) regarding business needs.

Supports the deployment of ALM in programs and projects.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Challenge and validate product solution changes to achieve better QCD targets during reviews.
  2. Drive standardization and put in place governance to ensure adherence to the product reference.
  3. Ensure robustness of the product validation plan and results.
  4. Create and maintain the product roadmap and backlog.
  5. Capture and analyze ALM technical requirements.
  6. Coordinate verification and validation activities, support integration tests and validation phases.
  7. Support key user and end-user training.
  8. Capture feedback and formalize return of experience to the project team.
  9. Organize design reviews with the project team.
  10. Ensure coherence of all individual tools within the ALM solution.
  11. Ensure architecture design fulfills business needs.
  12. Act as the front office for troubleshooting and root cause analysis throughout the project phases.

Mandatory Experience

  • Senior knowledge of ALM.
  • Knowledge about the Jazz Platform.
  • Understanding of configuration management, requirement management, verification, and validation processes.
  • Experience as an owner in a related role.
  • Experience in architectural design of ALM.
  • Experience from the train transport sector.

Skills & Competencies

  • Thoroughness, autonomy, customer care, quick learning ability.
  • Ability to master current and future ALM tools.
  • Capability to manage tasks from start to end, execute clearly, anticipate issues, and communicate effectively.
