Job summary

Airbus Helicopters SAS in Marignane seeks a Development Engineer Airframe to work in the Airframe Design Engineering team. You will contribute to all phases of new helicopter programs, from preliminary design to certification, across international projects.

The role focuses on designing components for prototypes, pre-serial and serial structures, with emphasis on composites and lightweight materials, and close collaboration with manufacturing and QA teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
• Knowledge of composite and metallic lightweight materials for helicopters.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
• Flexible, team-oriented and autonomous.
• Experience with Catia V5, VPM and SAP.
• Proficient with MS Office/Google Workspace.
• French and English negotiation level; German is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preliminary design of helicopter structures and subassemblies.
• Create drawings for prototypes, test rigs, and serial parts.
• Support industrialization and retrofit solutions for prototypes.
• Assist with certification activities up to Type Certificate.
• Design parts and subassemblies for prototypes, pre-serial and serial structures.
• Define manufacturing processes with manufacturing, tooling, and quality teams.
• Collaborate cross-departmentally with other helicopter systems.
