Mistral AI in Paris, France seeks AI Scientists to push the frontier of physics‑based AI through dedicated research and engineering. You will curate datasets, design model architectures, and train foundations models for engineering tasks.

You will collaborate with the research team to build generalizable foundation models that serve multiple downstream products, emphasizing high‑quality data pipelines and robust evaluation. This role targets leadership in AI‑for‑engineering research.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in CS/AI or an engineering science field.
• Strong, hands‑on machine learning expertise with model architectures and evaluation.
• Experience in simulation or surrogate modelling is a plus.
• Proficient Python coding and Linux/HPC familiarity.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Research and train novel foundation models for physics simulation, improving accuracy and generalization.
• Design and run large-scale simulation campaigns to build high-fidelity datasets.
• Investigate architectures and training strategies for transfer and fine-tuning across tasks.
• Rigorously evaluate model coverage, accuracy, and robustness against validation standards.
• Stay abreast of developments in AI-for-engineering and contribute to the team’s frontier research.
