Job summary

Meta is seeking a Research Scientist for its Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) organization in Paris to advance LLM reasoning with reinforcement learning, math, and advanced scaffolding techniques.

You will lead interdisciplinary research, design experiments, implement code, and contribute to publications, while mentoring teammates and collaborating across functions.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS, Math or related quantitative field.
• First-author publications at major AI conferences (NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR).
• Experience training and fine-tuning foundation models.
• Familiarity with state-of-the-art RL codebases and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, VERL).
• Authorized to work in France during employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead research advancing LLM reasoning within FAIR.
• Design experiments, implement reusable code, run evaluations, document results.
• Contribute to publications and open-source efforts.

Meta is seeking a Research Scientist to join its Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) organization, focused on making significant advances in LLMs reasoning with specific focus on reinforcement learning, informal and formal math and advanced scaffolding/agentic techniques.
