Job summary

Entalpic is seeking a Scientific Software Engineer with a strong chemistry and materials science background to build a scientific data platform powering AI-driven discovery.

You will design schemas for chemical properties, develop agentic extraction pipelines, and ensure data quality across diverse scientific sources, enabling rapid, reliable modeling and experiments. Join a multidisciplinary team in Paris with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or scientific software development.
• Strong understanding of chemistry and/or materials science, with the ability to reason about chemical compounds, physical properties, and experimental data.
• Strong Python software engineering skills, including testing, version control, and designing maintainable systems.
• Experience working with complex scientific or experimental data.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work effectively across scientific and engineering teams.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Scientific Data Modeling: define schemas for chemical properties, materials, and experiments.
• Agentic Scientific Extraction: build agentic workflows using LLMs to extract data from literature and experiments.
• Data Quality & Evaluation: implement quality controls, provenance, and human review for difficult cases.
• Scientific Data Engineering: develop Python pipelines to transform heterogeneous sources into clean datasets.
• Cross-team Collaboration: work with chemists, materials scientists, and AI engineers to translate needs into data specs.
