Within the Group, you will join the AXA Emerging Customers department, which focuses on making insurance accessible, affordable, and relevant to 4 billion low-income customers worldwide. Since 2016, AXA Emerging Customers has expanded its mission to include the protection needs of lower-middle-class customers in France and Europe.

Mission

AXA Emerging Customers is looking for an Agriculture and Public-Private Partnerships Lead to scale our inclusive insurance programs. The role, based in Paris, is responsible for the following:

• Develop insurance schemes for smallholder farmers in partnership with public and private actors:
  • Design tailored insurance products and services for smallholder farmers, including life and health insurance;
  • Lead collaboration with AXA Climate to structure and price inclusive agriculture insurance schemes;
  • Determine distribution strategies to reach rural populations and develop partnerships with FMCG and agri-business companies;
  • Participate in the B4IG community and lead collaboration with partners like L’Oréal on multistakeholder projects;
  • Map opportunities for partnerships with governments on agriculture insurance.
• Public-private partnerships (PPPs) and donor engagement:
  • Steer AXA’s involvement in the Insurance Development Forum’s inclusive insurance work;
  • Represent AXA in the IDF’s working group coordination committee;
  • Identify collaboration opportunities with public and private sector donors to co-fund projects.
• Entity Relationship Manager (ERM) role for a priority AXA EC market:
  • Act as ERM for at least one market, coordinating with local AXA EC teams;
  • Prepare and lead quarterly calls with local entity CEOs to review the inclusive insurance strategy.

Background and experience:

• 7-10 years of professional experience;
• Background in inclusive insurance/microinsurance is a must;
• Experience in emerging market rural areas and understanding of agricultural value chains;
• Experience engaging with donors and multilaterals;
• Knowledge of climate resilience and financial inclusion public policy is a strong plus.

Soft skills and competencies:

• Creative and resilient with a desire to understand the insurance value chain;
• Ability to deliver projects autonomously while collaborating with teams;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French and Spanish is a plus.

• Frequent international business travel
