EUROAPI is a new player in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), carve out from Sanofi with the purpose of becoming a worldwide champion in API commercial and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) activities with:
- Head office in Paris
- 6 European API production sites located in Brindisi (Italy), Frankfurt (Germany), Haverhill (UK), St Aubin les Elbeuf (France), Budapest (Hungary) and Vertolaye (France).
- Sales and CDMO teams present in 11 countries to cover our customers in 80 countries.
We are looking for a Procurement Lead Buyer (CAPEX) in Paris.
The procurement lead buyer contributes to define and deploy the sourcing strategy for the segment covered at the group level. He / she understands the trends on the markets and the business strategy to bring the appropriate solutions through strategic sourcing. He / she contributes to the definition of the cost reduction objectives for his / her segment.
He / she coordinates and deploys roadmaps (activities, processes and organization) for all appropriate sites, to reduce costs year-after-year, to support EUROAPI activity. He / she promotes cross-sites communication and nurtures a global mind-set among his / her network, coupled with risk mitigation and opportunistic approach.
In this position, the scope covers CAPEX (capital expenditure), mainly composed by pharmaceutical equipment (reactors, fermenters, filtration, extraction process, …) and site activities (EPC, piping, civil works, …).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Organization
- Recommend the best suitable processes and tools considering all innovative opportunities to maximize efficiency, savings, cost reduction and customer service level.
- Measure and communicate KPIs and related actions plan to enhance suppliers performance in term of technology, quality, responsiveness, delivery, cost and ethics.
- Promote networking and lead “cross fertilization” programs between the buyers of every site and with other purchasing entities whenever it can result in efficiency and economy of scale.
Cost Improvement
- Lead the negotiations with key suppliers and leverage global volume.
- Have a detailed understanding of the spend for the covered segment.
- Build and propose a budget that supports Euroapi’s financial objectives and drives the performance KPIs.
- Have a three-year visibility on Cost Improvement programs and find initiatives by identifying savings levers (internal and external) such as:
- Demand management: need identification, process effectiveness, …
- Market leverage (vendor panel optimization, globalization, …) / value-added relationship.
- Understand the cost drivers of his / her commodity and anticipate international market trends.
Sourcing Strategy and Vendor Management
- Define the strategy for his / her segment mid and long term based on business needs.
- Implement sourcing process and make recommendations for his / her segment.
- Manage the supplier performance and organize business reviews with key suppliers.
- Establish sustainable and profitable business relationships with a selection of key suppliers enabling access to innovation, high service level and preferred conditions.
- Lead global risk assessment aiming to secure Euroapi’s sourcing and activities; is in charge to anticipate and implement related programs. This includes a detailed view of supplier industrial capacity and the definition of the plan to support Euroapi’s demand.
- Act as fully engaged so that his / her organization reaches the highest compliance and ethics level while continuously developing, with its supplier’s base, a responsible sourcing approach.
Transversal Management
- Animate the network of buyers for the segment managed and set up a dynamics.
- Implement best practices for his / her segment and encourage, support the buyers to achieve a best-in-class commodity strategy.
- Define, propose and agree on objectives for the managed segment with main stakeholders / domain owners (requestors, site purchasing managers, controllers…).
- Communicate objectives and achievements to stakeholders / domain owners.
Requirements :
Education / Experience
- Business or Technical / Engineering executive education (University, School of Management, Engineering school, postgraduates’ programs).
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in Procurement in an industrial / FMCG company where the Procurement function is mature, performing and seen as strategic, demonstrating his / her abilities to influence both suppliers and internal / external stakeholders.
Technical Skills & Competencies / Language
- Proficient in French and English (Business Level), other languages appreciated.
- Strong process knowledge with the ability to improve processes to support Business needs.

- Good understanding of finance, business, operations, and legal aspects including service level agreements, KPIs, fixed price agreements.
