Burgess recruitment is seeking a 2nd Engineer for a 50m yacht with an upcoming shipyard period. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive engineering support, maintain all onboard systems, and assist with overall yacht operations within a small, active team.

Start date: Immediate. Location: France. Salary: EUR 5000. Leave: 42 days. Open to candidates from a commercial shipping background who meet the certification requirements. Burgess is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in a similar engineering role onboard yachts or commercial vessels.
• MEOL (Y) certification is essential; EOOW is an asset.
• Experience on yachts of similar size is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.
• Comfort working in a small engineering team and communicating with crew.

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive engineering support onboard and oversee maintenance of all systems.
• Maintain mechanical and electrical systems, engines, generators, water makers, air conditioning, and auxiliaries.
• Assist with overall yacht operations and coordinate with Captain and guests when required.

Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a 2nd Engineer for a 50m yacht

We are seeking an experienced 2nd Engineer to join a yacht with a 6 month shipyard period upcoming. This role requires someone capable of providing comprehensive engineering support, maintaining all onboard systems, and assisting with overall yacht operations. The ideal candidate will complement the existing team dynamic and contribute to a positive, active working environment.

Requirements

• MEOL (Y) certification essential.EOOW ideal
• Minimum of 2+ years in a similar engineering role, either onboard yachts or commercial vessels.
• Experience working on yachts with similar size preferred, but not mandatory.
• Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, engines, generators, water makers, air conditioning units, and auxiliary equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small engineering team.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with crew, Captain, and charter guests when needed.
• Open to candidates from a commercial shipping background, provided they meet the relevant certification requirements.
