Description du poste

PURPOSES OF THE USE

For our industrial braking activity "outside the standard product," take charge of customization studies of existing products according to specific customer specifications. The APS (Standard Product Adaptation) activity involves conducting technical and economic feasibility pre-studies; the DT (Labor Demand) activity involves studying and allocating a subset for manufacturing.

LABOUR RELATIONS

Reporting to the head of the APS/DT unit, with close collaboration with the R&D team, Order Management, Customer Care, Sales, Product Management, Purchasing, and Methods/Industrialization departments. May occasionally contact customers directly (French or foreign) for specifications discussions.

Description Of Significant Activities

  • Understand customer requirements, specifications, and documents in French, English, or Spanish; question and clarify specifications as needed.
  • Develop products following industry standards.
  • Create 3D models and simulations, manage assembly compositions, produce drawings, and perform functional dimensioning.
  • Produce algebraic or finite element calculation reports.
  • Contribute to technical data sheets and material specifications for marketing.
  • Participate in bi-weekly departmental meetings and report to the manager.
  • Potentially visit customer sites or collaborate with after-sales service for application insights and field experience.
  • Participate in order and design reviews, especially related to nuclear projects.
  • Execute RD customer plans responding to APS requests.
  • Perform sizing calculations and ensure product durability.
  • Draft comprehensive studies with the manager and critically review applications.
  • Occasionally serve as project manager for large customer requests.
  • Engage in technology monitoring and innovation initiatives.

  • Design or adapt mechanical assemblies ensuring reliability, quality, cost-effectiveness, and deadlines, with particular attention to nuclear safety standards.
  • Develop products according to industry best practices, collaborating with technical teams.
  • Incorporate safety, ergonomics, and environmental considerations into designs.
  • Propose innovative solutions and support colleagues with expertise.

SPECIFIC PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Mechanical Design Engineering Degree (or equivalent), with experience.
  • Strong foundation in mechanics, hydraulics, electrical engineering, etc.
  • Knowledge of materials and surface treatments.
  • Proficiency in finite element calculations.
  • Mastery of CAD (SolidWorks) and PDM.
  • Familiarity with ERP and Office tools.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Understanding of nuclear safety culture and CRT requirements.
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
