You will be at the forefront of shaping the legal strategy for our European operations in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape.

Join our dynamic Zone Europe Legal Team. This is an opportunity to work on high-stakes digital, e-commerce, and regulatory projects in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

As a member of the zone Europe Legal team reporting to one of the Deputy General Counsels, you will have a role to play in:

1. Assisting and contributing proactively to the implementation of Zone Europe's Legal strategy and roadmap.
2. Advising and supporting the Zone operational and functional teams and countries' legal teams by providing legal guidance on a broad variety of topics (distribution and commercial strategy, RGM, data and analytics, advertising and consumer laws, corporate matters, and real estate) to ensure a uniform and consistent implementation of Group and Zone strategies.
3. Conducting legal assessment and risk analysis, securing and advising on Zone projects (distribution strategy, E-commerce and digital projects, procurement, integration of new businesses, restructuring) to limit exposure to legal, financial and reputational risk and to ensure our license to operate in compliance with applicable standards, policies, procedures and regulations.
4. Assisting in the set-up of new business and distribution models for the Zone.
5. Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a diverse range of contracts, agreements and policies, including distribution agreements - selective distribution agreements, international cooperation agreements, commercial terms purchasing contracts, leases, and intragroup agreements, …
6. Setting up or updating contract templates, guidelines and processes about the above.
7. Managing or coordinating pre-litigation and litigation matters, and preparing, coordinating, or validating responses to regulatory inquiries and audits in collaboration with the relevant internal and external advisors.
8. Assessing advertising campaigns/claims risks and compliance within the Zone and managing strategic or European competitor's challenges.
9. Anticipating and coordinating the implementation of new European regulations impacting the Zone’s activities.
10. Echoing and promoting best practices, new regulations and internal policies; preparing and animating training and awareness workshops for internal stakeholders.
11. Contributing to developing and implementing working tools, technologies, processes, and new working methods for efficiency, simplicity and quality in legal support.
12. Maintaining legal files to ensure a full clear audit trail is available and accessible for management information.
13. Engaging with other teams (métiers and zones) to ensure a fluid, harmonized and efficient approach within the Group.

Key skills and competencies we are seeking:

• Law master's degree/legally qualified advisor in an EU or UK jurisdiction.
• Practical commercial legal experience working in-house or in private practice for at least 5 years.
• Extensive knowledge of distribution law, competition law, consumer protection law, marketing, and digital laws.
• Fluent in English; a strong command of French is recommended.
• Strong business acumen and digital savvy (including in new digital business models) with an entrepreneurial spirit and a practical and pragmatic approach to legal practice.
• Ability to adapt to a multicultural, fast-paced strategic environment, varied tasks and clients and to work on tight deadlines.
• Solution seeker with the ability to break down and understand complex issues using a logical and methodical approach.
• Highly skilled in writing, drafting, and communicating, with experience in contract negotiation.
• Agile, intuitive, creative & critical thinking.
• Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Capability and eagerness to work in a project management mode within a large ecosystem.
