Job summary

Unity Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Web Platform team working on the Unity Web runtime. You will embed Unity in the browser, work close to the metal, and collaborate with engineers who invented browser tech.

You’ll grow by learning from experienced teammates and delivering impact to developers worldwide. Role requires C++ expertise with some C#/JavaScript, and a passion for browser internals.

Qualifications

• Hands-on development experience with C++.
• Familiarity with C# and/or JavaScript.
• Curiosity about how browsers work under the hood, not building websites.
• Ability to profile, debug and optimize native code.
• Effective written/verbal communication within a distributed team.
• Forward thinker who perseveres on low-level problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and extend the Unity Web runtime, contributing features and fixes across the platform.
• Help improve the download size, load time and startup performance of Web builds.
• Develop, profile, debug and optimize across C++, C# and JavaScript.
• Scope your work with your manager and teammates, building on established patterns in the codebase.
• Investigate and fix issues raised by internal teams and by developers shipping on the Web platform.
• Keep pace with the browser's evolving capabilities and bring learnings back to the team.
