Job summary

Mercury Engineering in Helsinki seeks an experienced Project Warehouse Manager to run the day-to-day operations of the project warehouse, ensuring safe receipt, storage and dispatch of materials while maintaining accurate inventory.

You will work with Procurement, Materials Management, Logistics and Construction teams to ensure material availability aligns with schedule; lead warehouse operatives and promote a safe, organized environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in warehouse operations within construction, engineering or industrial sectors.
  • Experience supervising warehouse activities or teams.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management and material control principles.
  • Experience managing project materials within a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Good IT skills with experience using inventory management or ERP systems.
  • Forklift licence or relevant material handling experience is desirable.
  • Qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Management or a related discipline is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the project warehouse, ensuring the safe receipt, storage, handling and dispatch of materials.
  • Ensure warehouse operations support the project programme by maintaining material availability and the timely issue of materials to site.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all stock movements are properly controlled and traceable.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries with project teams, suppliers and logistics providers.
  • Ensure goods receipts and supporting documentation are processed accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Carry out routine stock checks and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure all materials are correctly identified, labelled and stored in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and project quality requirements.
  • Maintain an organised, clean and safe warehouse environment.
  • Lead, supervise and support warehouse operatives, allocating daily workloads and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Liaise with Procurement, Materials Management, Logistics and Construction teams to ensure material availability aligns with project requirements.
  • Monitor material movements and maintain accurate warehouse records.
  • Support project audits, inventory reviews and material inspections as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports on warehouse activities, inventory levels and material movements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

Scope of the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Warehouse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the project warehouse supporting one of our major construction projects in Helsinki.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe receipt, storage and dispatch of project materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are available to support construction activities. Working closely with Procurement, Materials Management, Logistics and Construction teams, the Project Warehouse Manager will play a key role in ensuring efficient material flow, strong inventory control and the successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise competing demands.
  • Forklift licence or relevant material handling experience is desirable.
  • Qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Management or a related discipline is advantageous.

Working Conditions:

  • Based at the project warehouse in Helsinki, Finland.
  • Occasional travel to project site and supplier locations may be required.
  • Standard working hours with flexibility to support project requirements.
  • PPE and all required training will be provided
