Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation seeks a Technical Service Manager, Databricks to drive global Databricks solutions and adopt AI practices. The preferred location is Helsinki, Finland with hybrid work options.

You will join the Platform engineering & developer services team, developing service offerings and guiding data platform strategy while collaborating with stakeholders worldwide. The ideal candidate has deep Databricks experience, strong Python/SQL skills, cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure) and

• Strong expertise in Databricks, Genie, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, DLT, Workflows, and SQL Warehouses.
• Practical experience in Python, PySpark, and SQL for ETL/data transformation.
• Experience with DataOps, CI/CD.
• Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure).
• Strong experience and understanding about enterprise level IT service management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

• Handling business demand and turning business ideas into value adding solutions.
• Solution and Service & Design: Develop scalable, secure, and leveraging the Lakehouse model, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog for governance etc.
• Provide expert advice, best practices, and training to customer teams on Databricks features and data engineering.
• Influence and support technical project delivery, manage scope, resolve blockers, and ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards. Act as a trusted advisor.
• Stay current with new Databricks features.

Technical Service Manager, Databricks

We are now looking for a

Technical Service Manager, Databricks

whose main responsibility is drive and manage Wärtsilä’s global Databricks solution and adopt AI tools and practises respectively. This is a job where you can truly affect company’s success through data and innovation.

The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland but also Vaasa and Turku in Finland are possible locations. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Technical Service Manager, Databricks your work will include being part of short- and long-term service and solution development for global Databricks solutions, running the service and being contact point for stakeholders. Additionally, you will be driving and adopting AI in data platforms including practises and guidance. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working together with data platforms Solution Manager and be part of the skilled Platform engineering & developer services team with diverse expertise.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Databricks platform service and technical management and governance

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
