Job description

Increasing urbanization requires diverse, sustainably designed and functional infrastructure where all modes of transport are considered. Green infrastructure helps the environment adapt to the challenges of a changing climate. Join us on the journey towards a more sustainable future!

We are looking for a team leader for way and area planning as well as sports facility planning for our urban and transport unit. You will act as the immediate supervisor for infrastructure design experts and be responsible for the operational activities, results and development of your team in accordance with Sweco's strategy. You will lead your team in a goal-oriented manner and take care of the budget, resource planning as well as tender and sales work. You will actively build customer relationships and promote cooperation across team and unit boundaries.

You inspire and support your team members in your daily work and ensure a good working atmosphere, development of expertise and the conditions for smooth work.

You are responsible for the team's project overall by supporting project managers, monitoring the project portfolio and ensuring the high-quality and profitable implementation of projects.

In addition to the role, you will also participate in infrastructure design projects as an expert or project manager according to your own experience and interest. The work includes customer and tender work as well as quality assurance in diverse way, street and municipal technical design projects. You will work closely with Sweco's experts in different fields and have a wide network at your disposal. The job description is shaped according to your expertise and interest.

We work in 28 locations across Finland, of which your own place of business is located in Turku.

Keys to success in the position:
  • You have several years of experience in street and area planning as well as, for example, leading infrastructure projects related to sports facilities, and you have also worked in supervisory positions.
  • You have the ability and desire to develop the business and a university degree oriented towards infrastructure construction suitable for the position (e.g. MSc Tech or Bachelor of Engineering).
  • You act in a customer-oriented and solution-focused manner, take responsibility for the whole and move things forward determinedly. Strong communication and interaction skills support your success both in leading the team and in stakeholder cooperation.
What we promise you:
  • Curious, brave and encouraging Sweco people. You are part of an uncomplicated and enthusiastic community where immediacy and respect for each other are emphasized. We support, value and encourage each other. High-quality supervision is one of our strengths.
  • Transforming society together. At Sweco, you are involved in creating the cities of the future and a more sustainable society.
  • International projects locally. We often work in projects in cooperation with international customers and partners. Sweco has a total of 23,000 employees across Europe, and in Finland we have 3,300 people in 28 locations.
  • Your own career path and training opportunities. We care that you can develop and design your own career path. Our own Sweco Academy offers diverse training opportunities.
  • A versatile and comprehensive personnel benefit package, the content of which you can influence yourself.
  • As an employer, we are flexible, and the sustainable coordination of your work and private life is a priority for us. We work where it makes the most sense – preferably also meeting each other at the office.
